Group Accountant (w/m) – 100%

Location: Spain (remote)

We are looking for a Group Accountant (w/m) – 100% to join our team starting October 2025. This is a remote role based in Spain, working closely with our global team and reporting to the Group Accounting Manager in Switzerland. In this role, you
will be responsible for executing operational accounting tasks, supporting statutory and group reporting, and collaborating with local and group accounting teams. You will ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and
contribute to continuous improvements in accounting processes.

What you will do (including, but not limited to):

1. Operational Accounting:

  • Execute and supervise daily accounting operations such as:
    o Processing accounts payable and receivable.
    o Recording journal entries.
    o Managing bank reconciliations.
    o Assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of accounting records in compliance with
    local and group standards.
  • Monitor intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Prepare standard reports and documentation required by the Group
    Accounting Manager or any stakeholders at MyCargoGate Group.

2. Collaboration & Support

  • Liaise with local accounting teams to ensure consistency in accounting
    treatment and timely reporting.
  • Provide operational support to local teams regarding accounting systems and
    procedures.
  • Assist in the rollout of group-wide accounting processes and system
    improvements.
  • Coordinate with external service providers (e.g. accounting firms, payroll
    providers) to ensure accurate local execution.

3. Compliance & Reporting

  • Support in the preparation of statutory financial statements and group
    reporting packages.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, Swiss
    GAAP FER, HGB).
  • Prepare documentation for tax filings, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Assist in audit processes if needed.

4. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and suggest
    enhancements.

What you will need:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in operational accounting, ideally in a multinational
    environment.
  • Experience with large accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft
    Dynamics).
  • Fluent in English (must); German is a plus.
  • IT-savvy and confident with digital tools.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and great at solving problems.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organized, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • A team player who can collaborate with colleagues across different countries
    and time zones.
