We are looking for a Customs Specialist (m/f/d) – 100% to join our team in Germany. The position can be based in Frankfurt (remote setup) or any other location in Germany.

In this position, you will be responsible for the operational handling of customs formalities for international imports and exports. You will ensure compliance with local and international customs regulations, guarantee proper documentation, and supports the optimization of customs processes within the company. What you will do:

  • Prepare, submit, and monitor import and export customs declarations
  • Review shipping documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations
  • Manage special customs procedures (e.g. customs warehousing, inward and outward processing)
  • Handle day-to-day customs operations related to Frankfurt Airport, ensuring smooth and timely clearance
  • Act as the main contact for customs authorities and freight forwarders
  • Coordinate with internal teams
  • Monitor regulatory changes and keep internal customs procedures up to date
  • Support customs audits and implement corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities to optimize customs processes and reduce duties through correct tariff classification

What you will need:

  • Degree in International Trade, Logistics, Customs, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a similar customs role, ideally with Frankfurt Airport exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of German customs regulations
  • Solid knowledge of ATLAS
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Autonomous and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Team player with a customer-service mindset.
